My pace was slow, my breath was loud,
but oh, my love ran deep,
I’d snore beside your bed at night
and
guard you in your sleep.
With wrinkles full of wisdom
and a
stare that knew your soul,
I brought my strength in
stillness-
calm, unshaken, whole.
Now in a sky of belly rubs,
I rest without a care,
No stairs to climb, no storms to fear-
just peace forever there.
You’ll find me in the quiet moments
when you miss me most,
A loyal heart that never left,
now living as a ghost.
