I loved like lace, I loved like fire,
a gentle royal thread,
With soulful eyes and velvet ears,
I nestled near your bed.
A noble heart with puppy ways,
I lived for snuggles sweet,
And everywhere you ever went,
I curled up at your feet.
Now I’m the hush at twilight’s end,
the calm behind your sighs,
A Cavalier among the stars,
beneath soft, starlit skies.
When music swells or candles flicker,
feel me settle near —
For every heart I ever held,
I’m still forever here.
